Been There, Do That! Day 28

Been There!

“You know you’re an autism parent when u feel horrible about not giving enough attention
to your neurotypical [‘normal’] children.”

Do That!

Handicapped parking spots and the neighboring diagonal lines are there for a reason. Don’t park in or on them, unless you have permission.

  1. I have been there and do that.
We have a handicap permit yet because my son “looks” typical we get looks that could kill. He is a runner and the less parking lot the better.

  2. Be There
I always feel this way. On top of it may boys could not have more different personalities so it makes it hard to feel like I treat them the same. I love them both the same but sometimes I know my “typical” child feels he doesnt get the same time.
    Done That
I have a Handicap permit since my son is a runner and the less parking lot we have to cross the better but sometimes the looks I get could kill. BUT they do not see the whole picture so they maybe shouldnt judge so quickly on what handicapped “looks” like.

    • Wow, DW, that is good for other parents to know they can get a permit for that reason! Thanks for sharing. I appreciate your comment, too. I often feel the same about Meatball, especially since he’s also the 2nd born.
